Chain...Chain...Change

I identify with all of the mission statements, but the one that is most important to me is continuous innovation. When I finished high school in the 1980's I worked at a University library. The internet was not a part of the scene as yet. When I look back from then to now, the changes are astonishing!. A student can get a college degree on line, without having to actually go to a college. We don't have to go to the movie theatres anymore, because we can see the movies on line.

We want our patrons to visit us of course, but we also want the communtiy to know that our resoures on line, besides being free, will keep improving with the changes in technology and it's there for their use. We have to promote our services by visiting business, telling our neighbors, and encouraging those that we meet daily, of all that is available to them through our website.

Open Source Information

Loved the Japanese school. Great idea. When I first moved to Florida, I visited my local library within the first week. I was so glad that I could order my books on line and access their databases. It worked also for my children who had homework help. We did not have this service at our previous library in the Northeast. Before, you had to depend on card catalogues and almost all your information came from books. Now that I am a part of OCLS, I am happy to share with the patrons all that is available to them through our website. Some are amazed at what we offer and as we continue to grow and share our knowledge, we are better able to serve the community.

Created accounts with Yahoo answers, etc.. Still awaitng responses to my questions.

Health and Technology

The Nutrition Data is not for me. I rarely eat a full meal for lunch. Most of the time I have a cereal bar and water. Dinner is a little of whatever I make. And some dessert. Love the sweets. Eat it in moderation, though.

Heath and technology

I am a jogger (without an Mp3) and have been doing this for years. I usually like to run early in the mornings and I am energized for the rest of the day. I like the idea of the wii workout. My son told me about the wii but I did not want to invest in one. Seems that I will now. Add some variety to my workout.

New Blogger

Hi, I am a first time blogger. So far it seems exciting. I was looking at other blogs and I am learning fast. I did not finish 2.0 but I hope to complete 2.1. I enjoyed the Blog song by David Lee King and I read about the Web 3.0. It's fascinating. I am not too computer savvy but I am learning something new about it every day, and by participating in 2.1. I will learn more about the web and information processing.
